Reflection
I enjoyed making my updated myth sculpture because it let me create a new version of a greek myth that I wanted to make more modern. My idea was to make a person that was a public figure that meant something to the world. Not only a celebrity but someone that makes the world a better place. Therefor I chose David Attenbourgh, a british tv actor who was making the world a better place and who also knows a great deal about climate change. I found that the greek god that I should chose to relate to David should be some part in change and have something to do with climate. I ended up choosing poseidon. I had a challenging time combinding these two charecters because they they have many things in common in real life but not in facial features. David is in his 80’s so poseidon had to kinda get a bit older and have more of Davids features. I made the sculpture have a beard because of poseidon and I made the rest of the sculpture more like David. I think that it turned out well considering that we only had a limited amount of time to make the sculptures. For the sculpture we could only have the head so I could not add much of poseidons’ dressing features but I felt that the sculpture would look better with only the head anyway. I really enjoyed this process anyway even though we only got to do the sculpting part for a day.
